Angels, the benevolent beings...
|
If nature has made you a giver, your hands are born open, and so is your
heart. And though there may be times when your hands are empty, your heart is always
full, and you can give things out of that.
Frances Hodgson Burnett

I do believe there are angels among us and I know they are watching over us!!
In my point of
view, there are two kinds of
angels, the ones we see and the ones
we cannot see... The ones we cannot see perform their duty to helps us in many
ways and often we don't pay any atenttion to them, but no
matter we believe
or not in their existence, they are right there, taking good
care of us!
The ones we can see are our dear friends, our family and sometimes, a complete stranger who says a nice "hello" or
gives us a tender smile while we are passing
by... These simple gestures sometimes have the power
of healing a pain,
these ones, dressed up as human beings are angels in
disguise....

About the term Angel....
"The term angel, which is derived from the Greek word angelos, is the equivalent
of the Hebrew word mal'akh, meaning “messenger.” The literal meaning of the
word angel thus
points more toward the function or status
of such beings in a cosmic hierarchy rather than toward connotations of essence or nature, which
have been prominent in popular piety, especially in Western religions.
|
 |
Thus, angels have their significance primarily in what they do rather than in what they are. Whatever
essence or
inherent nature they possess is in terms
of their relationship to their
source (God, or the ultimate
being). Because of the Western iconography (the system
of image symbols) |
|
of angels, however, they have been granted essential identities that often surpass their functional
relationships to the sacred or holy and their performative relationships to the profane
world. In other words, popular piety, feeding on graphic and symbolic representations
of
angels, has to some extent posited semidivine or
even divine
status to angelic figures."

On life's busy thoroughfare,
we meet with angels unaware,
but we are too busy to see or hear,
too busy to sense that God is near,
too busy to stop and recognize
the grief that lies in another's eyes,
too busy to offer to help or share,
too busy to sympathize or care,
too busy to do the good things we should
telling ourselves we would if we could.
but life is too swift and the pace is too
great
and we dare not pause or we might be late
for our next appointment which means so much,
|
|
|
we are willing to brush off the Saviour's touch,
and we tell ourselves there will come a day,
we will have more time to pause on our way
but before we know it life's sun has set,
and we've passed the Saviour but never met
for hurrying along life's thoroughfare,
we passed Him by and remained unaware
that within the very sight of our eye,
unnoticed, the Son of God passed by.

You are the Angel who I cherish,
so dearly in this heart of mine;
The one who makes my day brighter,
by making my whole world shine.
during all the darkest moments,
when my skies turn cloudy and grey,
You're the one who touches my heart,
and makes everything seem okay
I count my blessings that I have,
an Angel like you, so close at hand;
afriend who always watches over me,
someone who can always understand.
If I need someone who I can turn to,
you are always right there beside me,
giving so much of yourself each time,
to guide me to the light, so I can see
We are all assigned a Guardian Angel,
and I'm so glad God chose you as mine;
He knew that whenever I needed His love,
you would be an Angel to me every time.
